LOS ANGELES — NBA fans have been without regular-season basketball for three months. Opening night on Tuesday, Oct. 21 changed that.
After many marquee trades and draft picks over the league’s offseason, fans were eager to see where their team stacks up in comparison to the rest of the association.
The Golden State Warriors took down the Los Angeles Lakers on opening night with a final score of 119-109. Some fans were assured with the result, as it provided insight into how the new look Warriors will fare against top NBA teams this season.
Fans shared a sentiment about the overall uncertainty of the 2025-26 season. Teams like the new-look Houston Rockets with 11x All-NBA player Kevin Durant and reigning champions Oklahoma City Thunder were regarded as some of the biggest threats to deep postseason runs in the Western Conference.
Overall, fans understand that the way their team starts the season doesn’t dictate where they’ll be at the end of April. With more basketball to come over the next half-year, all eyes will be on the duels battled over the hardwood.
